Problem with a FORD TRANSIT CONNECT 1.8 L TDCi 2011 165k

Reoccurring DPF fault, engine management light on and lack of power due to DPF blockage. Fault codes stored P242F DPF restriction due to ash accumulation, P2463 DPF soot accumulation, P244B DPF differential pressure sensor circuit high.

After further investigation the fault was found to be caused by a blocked DPF fuel vaporizer preventing DPF regeneration. The fault was cured by cleaning the DPF fuel vaporizer with Forté Diesel Intake Cleaner, removing the DPF and manually cleaning with Forté DPF Off-Car Cleaner as per instructions.

Problem with a TOYOTA MR2 1.8 L 16v 2001

Failing MOT emissions test at fast idle CO 0.48%, HC 28 Lambda 0.987, no faults or fault codes found.

Catalytic converter replaced, extended Forté Advanced Formula Motor Flush carried out and Forté Petrol Specialist Injector Cleaner added and extended road test carried out, fault not cured. After further investigation it was found that the vehicle was fitted with three catalytic converters.

The fault was cured by replacing the two catalytic converters in front of the manifold, emissions retested and passed.

Problem with a FORD KUGA 2.0 L TDCi 2012 45k

DPF light on and lack of power due to engine running in limp mode.

The fault was cured by replacing the DPF pressure sensor, adding Forté DPF Cleaner and Regenerator into the fuel tank and carrying out an extended road test to allow regeneration of particulate filter.

Problem with a SUBARU OUTBACK 2.0 L 2010 85k

Diesel Particulate Filter warning light on, suspect diesel particulate filter blocked. After further investigation it was found that the engine had a split turbo pipe. The DPF was also checked on diagnostic machine showing DPF pressure at 350 mbar.

The fault was cured by replacing the turbo pipe, removing the DPF and manually cleaning with 2 x Forté DPF Off-Car Cleaner as per instructions. The DPF pressure was also rechecked showing the DPF pressure at 100 mbar.

Lack of power and engine management light on, suspect diesel particulate filter blocked. DPF checked on diagnostic machine showing filter blockage 200% and fault code stored for EGR valve fault.

The fault was cured by replacing the EGR valve, removing the DPF and manually cleaning with 2 x Forté DPF Off-Car Cleaner as per instructions, adding Forté Diesel Specialist Injector Cleaner and Forté DPF Cleaner & Regenerator into the fuel tank. The vehicle was then taken on an extended road test with the vehicle performance restored.

Vehicle recovered as engine not running. After further investigation and disconnecting the DPF, the engine would run, fault due excessively blocked Diesel Particulate Filter.

The fault was cured by removing the DPF and manually cleaning with 3 x Forté DPF Off-Car Cleaner as per instructions, carrying out an extended Forté New Generation Engine Flush and adding Forté Diesel Specialist Injector Cleaner and Forté DPF Cleaner & Regenerator into the fuel tank. Problem with a LAND ROVER RANGE ROVER V8 Diesel 2011 80k

Loss of power and engine management light coming on, fault code stored for turbo overboost, suspect fault due to sticking turbo vanes.

The fault was cured by adding Forté Diesel Turbo Cleaner and Forté Diesel Specialist Injector Cleaner into the fuel tank, running the engine on idle for 30 minutes and carrying out an extended road test with varying loads and speeds of the engine.

Oil light flashing on and off when driven under load, suspect fault due to oil contamination build-up in the sump and on the oil pick up pipe.

The fault was cured by carrying out an one hour Forté New Generation Engine Flush. The owner also reported after 1,000 miles that the oil light had not come on.

Problem with a BMW X3 2.0 L TD 2005 121k

No power over 30 mph and EML on, fault codes stored for faulty glow plugs, throttle body and DPF blockage, new DPF only fitted the month previously.

The fault was cured by replacing the glow plugs and throttle body, removing the inlet manifold/swirl flaps and manually cleaning with Forté Diesel Intake Cleaner. The DPF was then removed and manually cleaned with Forté DPF Off-Car Cleaner as per instructions, carrying out an extended Forté New Generation Engine Flush and adding Forté Diesel Specialist Injector Cleaner and Forté DPF Cleaner and Regenerator into the fuel tank. The fault was cured by removing the DPF and manually cleaning with 2 x Forté DPF Off-Car Cleaner as per instructions, carrying out an extended Forté Advanced FormulaMotor Flush adding Forté Diesel Specialist Injector Cleaner and Forté DPF Cleaner & Regenerator into the fuel tank. After cleaning the DPF was regenerated and the filter reading was rechecked showed the filter blockage at 4%.

Poor running and noisy timing chain, fault codes stored P0011 inlet camshaft timing solenoid 1 timing over advanced, P0014 exhaust camshaft timing solenoid 1 timing over advanced.

Suspect fault due to oil contamination preventing the correct operation of the variable valve timing.

The fault was cured by using Forté Clean & Protect carrying out a 1 hour Forté Advanced Formula Motor Flush and adding Forté Oil System Protector to the new oil.

Engine cutting out and excessive black smoke, EML on fault code stored 407E EGR fault.

After further investigation, the EGR valve, EGR pipe and inlet manifold were removed and found to be heavily blocked with soot deposits.

The fault was cured by fitting a new EGR valve, manually cleaning the inlet manifold and EGR pipe with Forté Diesel Intake Cleaner adding Forté Advanced Formula Diesel Treatment to the fuel tank and carrying out an extended Forté Advanced Formula Motor Flush. The vehicle was then taken on an extended road test with the vehicle power and performance restored.

Problem with a RENAULT MASTER 2.3 L DCi 2012

Lack of power, suspected EGR fault. After further investigation and removing the EGR cooler it was found that the flap on the EGR cooler had broken off, blocking the EGR cooler.

The fault was cured by fitting a new EGR cooler. After the repair it is recommended to use Forté Diesel Intake Cleaner as per instructions, carrying out an extended Forté Advanced Formula Motor Flush and adding Forté Advanced Formula Diesel Treatment into the fuel tank to clean the intake, oil and fuel system.

Problem with a VW TRANSPORTER TDi 2010

Lack of power due to engine running in limp mode and Diesel Particulate Filter (DPF) warning light on. Fault code stored for DPF blockage. Vehicle taken to dealers previously for DPF regeneration and fault returned.

The fault was cured by removing the DPF to manually clean using 2 x Forté DPF Off-Car Cleaner as per instructions, carrying out an extended Forté New Generation Engine Flush and adding Forté Diesel Specialist Injector Cleaner and Forté DPF Cleaner and Regenerator into the fuel tank.

The vehicle was then returned to the dealer for the DPF to be reset. The dealer also stated that the DPF was in ‘as new’ condition and very clean according to the DPF readings taken.

Problem with a SCANIA P360 2011

Poor heater output and coolant circulation due to corrosion build-up in cooling system, EGR cooler damaged due to poor circulation.

The fault was cured by fitting a new EGR cooler, adding 8 bottles of Forté Bio Degreaser & Cooling System Flush into the cooling system with an estimated cooling system capacity of 70-80 litres.

The vehicle was then run at fast idle for 30-40 minutes at operating temperature and the cooling system drained and refilled with fresh coolant adding 2 bottles of Forté Radiator Stop Leak & Cooling System Conditioner.

The fault was cured by replacing the DPF pressure sensor, adding 2 x Forté New Generation Engine Flush, carrying out an extended flush and adding 2 x Forté Diesel Specialist Injector Cleaner, 2 x Forté DPF Cleaner and Regenerator into the tank. Rough running, poor starting and misfire when cold.
New injectors fitted at BMW dealers costing £2,500, but fault was not cured.

Dealer advised vehicle required the engine replacing. Customer advised to get a second opinion at another garage.

The fault was cured by adding Forté Advanced Formula Diesel Treatment with Forté Diesel Specialist Injector Cleaner into the fuel tank, adding Forté Advanced Formula Motor Flush and carrying out a 50 mile road test and replacing the oil & filter.

The customer also reported the vehicle’s performance was restored.

Problem with a FORD MONDEO 2.0L TDCi 2006 103k

Loss of power and engine going into limp mode, engine management light coming on and glow plug light flashing. Fault code stored P123A turbo actuator fault.

After further investigation the turbo actuator was disconnected revealing that the turbo vanes were sticking due to carbon build-up.

The fault was cured by applying Forté Diesel Intake Cleaner into the intake system as per instructions, adding Forté Diesel Specialist InjectorCleaner and Forté Diesel Turbo Cleaner into the fuel tank and carrying out an extended road test.

After treatment the vehicle was taken on an extended road test.

Problem with a VAUXHALL ASTRA 1.4 16v Twinport 2006 89k

Excessive noise from hydraulic valve lifters and timing chain noisy. Suspect fault due to heavily contaminated oil from lack of servicing.

The fault was cured by adding Forté New Generation Engine Flush and flushing the engine for 2 ½ hours and adding Forté Top End Treatment and Forté Oil System Protector to the new oil.

The vehicle was taken on an extended road test, the engine noise had gone and the customer was very impressed with the results.

Problem with a PEUGEOT RCZ 1.6L 2010 60k

Vehicle in for replacement timing chain. After replacement, fault code stored P1385 super knock fault. Contacted dealer who advised they had possibly damaged the rocker cover crankcase ventilation system. New rocker cover fitted but fault not cured. Contacted dealer again advising they had possibly damaged the crankshaft pulley, new crankshaft pulley fitted but fault still not cured. Advised by another dealer the fault was due to sticking valves.

The fault was cured by cleaning the intake system with Forté Valve Cleaner as per instructions. Forté  Clean and Protect was carried out and Forté Advanced Formula Gas Treatment and Forté Petrol Specialist Injector Cleaner was added to the fuel tank.

After treatment the vehicle was taken on an extended road test, and the vehicle performance was restored.

The fault was cured by removing the DPF to manually clean using 2 x Forté DPF Off-Car Cleaner as per instructions, and adding Forté Diesel Specialist Injector Cleaner and Forté DPF Cleaner & Regenerator into the fuel tank.

The DPF was then regenerated and reset using diagnostic equipment and taken on an extended road test with the vehicle power and performance restored.

Problem with a FORD MONDEO 2.0L TDCi 2010 167k

Lack of power due to excessively blocked Diesel Particulate Filter (DPF). Diagnostic check carried out showed 210% soot loading in the DPF.

The fault was cured by removing the DPF to manually clean using 2 x Forté DPF Off-Car Cleaner as per instructions and adding Forté Diesel Specialist Injector Cleaner and Forté  DPF Cleaner and Regenerator into the fuel tank.

The DPF was then regenerated and reset using diagnostic equipment and taken on an extended road test with the vehicle power and performance restored.

Problem with a BMW E90 320i 2.0L 6Cyl 2008 101k

Engine management light on, fault code stored for catalytic converter fault.

The fault was cured by adding Forté Petrol Saver and Forté Petrol Specialist Injector Cleaner into the fuel tank, running the engine on idle for 30 minutes and carrying out a 20 mile road test.

After the road test the engine management light remained off with no fault codes stored.

Top end noisy, suspect noise due to contamination build-up in the hydraulic valve lifters.

The fault was cured by carrying out an extended Forté Advanced Formula Motor Flush and adding Forté Top End Treatment to the new oil.

Lack of power and engine running in limp mode due to blocked DPF, unable to carry out DPF regeneration.

The fault was cured by removing the DPF to manually clean using 2 x Forté DPF Off-Car Cleaner as per instructions, carrying out an extended Forté Advanced Formula Motor Flush adding Forté Oil System Protector into the new oil and adding Forté Diesel Specialist Injector Cleaner and Forté DPF Cleaner & Regenerator into the fuel tank.

The DPF was then regenerated and reset using diagnostic equipment and taken on an extended road test with the vehicle power and performance restored.
