Problem with a VAUXHALL ASTRA 1.9 CDTI 2007 106K

Lack of power on acceleration. 

The fault was cured by removing and cleaning the EGR valve with Forté Diesel Intake Cleaner and cleaning the intake system with Forté Diesel Intake Cleaner as per instructions, Forté Clean and Protect (Forté Oil System Protector and Forté Advanced Formula Motor Flush) carried out and Forté Advanced Formula Diesel Treatment added to the fuel tank. After treatment, a 6-mile road test was carried out and the vehicle performance was restored.

Lack of power under load, Management light on fault code for EGR valve. Vehicle in limp mode and will not rev above 2500 rpm. 

The fault was cured by removing and cleaning the EGR valve manually. Intake system cleaned with Forté Diesel Intake Cleaner, Clean and Protect (Forté Oil System Protector and Forté Advanced Formula Motor Flush) carried out and Forté Advanced Formula Diesel Treatment added to the fuel tank and an extended road test.

Problem with a VW GOLF 1.8L TURBO 2002 150K

 Lack of power, poor idle and engine will not rev up. 

The fault was cured by cleaning the intake system with Forté Valve Cleaner as per instructions, Forté Clean and Protect (Forté Oil System Protector and Forté Advanced Formula Motor Flush) carried out and Forté Advanced Formula GasTreatment added to the fuel tank. 

After treatment the vehicle was taken on an extended road test and the vehicle idle and performance was restored.

Problem with a PEUGEOT 308 1.6 2008 30K

Lack of power and erratic idle. After further inspection it was found that the fault was caused by excessive carbon build-up on the valves. 

The fault was cured by cleaning the intake system with Forté Valve Cleaner as per instructions, Clean and Protect (Forté Oil System Protector and Forté Advanced Formula Motor Flush) carried out and Forté Advanced Formula GasTreatment added to the fuel tank. After treatment, the vehicle was taken on an extended road test.

Problem with a TOYOTA HIACE 2.5L D-4D 2008 94K

Lack of power and engine management light on, fault code stored P0400 EGR system flow malfunction. New EGR valve fitted at Toyota dealers, fault still present. 

The fault was cured by cleaning the intake system with Forté Diesel Intake Cleaner as per instructions, Forté Clean and Protect (Forté Oil System Protector and Forté Advanced Formula Motor Flush) carried out and Forté Advanced Formula Diesel Treatment added to the fuel tank and a 50-mile road test was carried out. After treatment the fault code cleared and the vehicle performance was restored.

Problem with a FIAT PANDA 1.3 CDTI 2005 50K

Vehicle used for short stop/start journeys. Fault code stored for turbo and P0106 Map sensor/barometric sensor range performance. 

The fault was cured by replacing the map sensor and adding Forté Diesel Turbo Cleaner and Forté Advanced Formula Diesel Treatment to the fuel tank. The inlet system was cleaned with Forté Diesel Intake Cleaner and Clean and Protect (Forté Oil System Protector & Forté Advanced Formula Motor Flush) carried out. After the treatment, the vehicle performance was restored.

Problem with a AUDI TT 2.0L TDI 2008 52K

Lack of power, engine management light, DPF and glow plug lights on, fault code stored for diesel particulate filter soot content too high. DPF checked filter soot loading at 98%, and unable to carry out a forced regeneration.

The fault was cured by using Forté Clean & Protect, 45-minute Forté New Generation Engine Flush adding Forté Oil System Protector to the new oil and Forté DPF Cleaner and Regenerator and Forté Diesel Specialist Injector Cleaner added to the fuel tank. The car was then taken for a 1-hour road test at 60 mph 3,000 rpm to allow regeneration of the particulate filter. After the road test the DPF soot loading was reduced to 27%. The owner reported the car had never driven so well.

The fault was cured by adding 2 x Forté DPF Cleaner and Regenerator into the fuel tank and carrying out a 20-mile road test to allow regeneration of the particulate filter. It is also recommended to use Forté Clean & Protect (Forté Advanced Formula Motor Flush and Forté Oil System Protectorto clean and maintain the oil system, and adding Forté Diesel Specialist Injector Cleaner to the fuel tank to restore spray patterns and combustion efficiency.

Problem with a VAUXHALL ZAFIRA 1.9L CDTI 2009 42K

Lack of power and engine management light on. Fault code stored P242F diesel particulate filter blockage/ash accumulation, suspect particulate filter blocked. The engine oil was also checked which was excessively overfilled due to contamination from diesel fuel.

The fault was cured by using Forté Clean & Protect, 45-minute Forté New Generation Engine Flush adding Forté Oil System Protector to the new oil and Forté DPF Cleaner and Regenerator and Forté Diesel Specialist Injector Cleaner added to the fuel tank. The car was then taken for a 20-mile road test at 40-50 mph to allow regeneration of the particulate filter.

Diesel Particulate Filter warning light on and lack of power, suspect particulate filter blocked. DPF differential pressure checked, idle 152 mbar, 2,000 rpm 500 mbar, full-throttle 955 bar.

The fault was cured by adding 2 x Forté DPF Cleaner and Regenerator into the fuel tank and carrying out a 20-mile road test, after the road test the DPF differential pressure was rechecked, idle 21 mbar, 2,000 rpm 100 mbar, full-throttle 165 mbar, the recommended limit is 65 mbar for a clean DPF.

Lack of power, engine management light on and DPF warning light on, fault code stored for DPF fault. Vehicle check at dealers showing the DPF filter soot loading 126%, recommending a new DPF is fitted.

The fault was cured by adding 2 x Forté DPF Cleaner and Regenerator into the fuel tank and carrying out a 20-30-mile road test at 50-60 mph 2,500 rpm. After the road test, the DPF was rechecked showing the filter soot loading at 18% and lack of power restored.

engine above 2,000 rpm in fourth gear due to heavy blockage of the DPF.
