Lack of power and Diesel Particulate Filter (DPF) warning light on. Fault caused by restricted exhaust gas flow due to DPF blockage. After further investigation the oil was also checked which was thick and heavily contaminated.
was cured by replacing the DPF pressure sensor, adding 2 x Forté New Generation Engine Flush, carrying out an extended flush and adding 2 x
Forté Diesel Specialist Injector Cleaner, 2 x Forté DPF Cleaner and Regenerator into
the tank. The vehicle was then taken on an extended road test with the
vehicle power and performance restored.
Thanks to Mike at CMR Workshop in Croydon, Surrey.
Forté's Technical Helpline receives over 300 calls per month. This blog shares solutions for garage workshops on common driveability concerns that can be quickly and effectively treated. The vast majority of those identified are caused by fuel and oil borne contamination formed by natural degradation or via the combustion process. This is a fact of life for internal combustion engines where fossil fuels and oils are used.
