Problem with a LAND ROVER DISCOVERY 3 2.7L TDV6 2007

Tapping noise on engine and slight lumpy running. 

The fault was cured by cleaning the injectors using the Forté Power-Clean Diesel Injection Cleaner

After cleaning, the vehicle ran smoother and the mpg increased from 26 mpg up to 31.5 mpg.

Problem with a FORD TRANSIT CONNECT 1.8L TDCi

Lack of power and engine management light on, fault code stored for DPF. Suspect DPF heavily blocked. 

The fault was cured by cleaning the DPF using the Forté Power-CleanDPF Cleaner and Forté DPF Flush, carrying out an extended road test and resetting the DPF fault codes.

Problem with a SUZUKI GSX KATANA 750cc 1986 60k

Lack of power and high pitched engine vibration. 

The fault was cured by adding Forté MotoPower 1Forté Moto Power 2 into the fuel tank and the owner carrying out a 300-mile trip. The owner reported that the power had improved, the engine was smoother and the engine vibration had stopped.

Problem with a NISSAN QASHQAI 1.5 L DCi 2011 68k

Vehicle non-start due to excessively blocked DPF, engine management light on, fault code stored for glow plug fault. After further investigation there was also a split air intake pipe found. 

The fault was cured by replacing the glow plugs and air intake pipe, removing the DPF and manually cleaning with 2 x Forté DPFOff-Car Cleaner as per instructions, carrying out an extended Forté Advanced Formula Motor Flush adding Forté Diesel Specialist Injector Cleaner and Forté DPF Cleaner &Regenerator into the fuel tank. The vehicle was then taken on an extended road test with the vehicle running well and full power restored.

Problem with a HONDA CB1300 1.3 L 2004 76k

No running faults but high mileage and old fuel in tank. 

Fuel filter cleaned, and old fuel drained and refilled with fresh fuel adding Forté Moto Power 1Forté Moto Power 2 into the fuel tank and carrying out an extended road test. After the road test the owner reported that the engine was running smoother.

Problem with a FORD FIESTA 1.4 L TDCi 2010 55k

Failing emissions test 7.4 m-1. MOT default limit 1.5 m-1, vehicle plate value 1.1 m-1. 

The fault was cured by replacing the air and fuel filters, carrying out an extended Forté Advanced FormulaMotor Flush adding Forté Diesel Specialist Injector Cleaner and Forté Diesel Turbo Cleaner into the tank. The vehicle then had a 20-mile road test, emissions retested and passed at 0.9 m-1.

Problem with a BMW 750 5.0 L 2007 88k

Excessive oil burning and smoking on idle, burning 1 litre of oil every 3-400 miles. Suspect fault due to bore lacquering and sticking piston rings. 

The fault was cured by adding 2 x Forté NewGeneration Engine Flush and the owner driving for 500 miles. The oil and filter was then replaced, adding 2 x Forté Oil Fortifier into the new oil. After 1500 miles the owner reported the smoke had stopped, the engine had not used any oil and he was very happy with the result.

Problem with a ROVER 45 2.0D 90K

Failed emissions test at 3.89m-1 plate value 1.03m-1.

Emissions reduced by carrying out a Forté Power-Clean Diesel Injection Clean, Forté Diesel Intake Clean and cleaning through the intercooler manually with Forté Valve Cleaner.

Passing the emissions test at 0.58m-1.

Problem with a YAMAHA R1 1000CC 2006 3.5K

Bike had a period of standing and little use. Low mileage vehicle. Poor running and misfire.

Fuel tank drained and fresh fuel added. Spark plugs replaced, treated with Forté Moto Power I and Forté Moto Power II.

After a road test performance was restored and misfire stopped.

Problem with a ROVER 25 2002 1400CC 74K

Failed emissions test for MOT on CO% (carbon monoxide) and lambda.

Vehicle treated with Forté Advanced Formula Gas Treatment and taken for a road test.

CO% reduced from 4.82% at idle and 2.43% at fast idle to 0.16% and 0.13% respectively, lambda 0.94 to 1.01 passing the test.

Problem with a VAUXHALL ASTRA VAN 1.3L CDTi


Intermittent hesitation and lack of power.

The fault was cured by cleaning the injectors and turbo using the Forté Power-Clean DieselInjector Cleaner and Forté Power-Clean Diesel Turbo Cleaner. After cleaning the vehicle performance was restored and the MPG increased from 38 up to 44.

Fluid loss from power steering pump seal. Power steering noisy in operation and fluid heavily discoloured.

The fault was cured by carrying out a Power Steering Service by replacing the fluid and adding Forté Power Steering Treatment. The leak stopped, and the power steering was quiet and moving freely.

Problem with a VOLVO C70 2.0L TD 2010


Misfire on idle, smoke when warm and cutting out intermittently. No faults found, or fault codes stored.

The fault was cured by cleaning the DPF, injectors and turbo using the Forté Power-Clean DPFCleaner and Forté Power-Clean DPF Flush, Forté Power-Clean Diesel InjectorCleaner and Forté Power-Clean Diesel Turbo Cleaner. After cleaning the engine was running smooth and the smoke had stopped, the owner reported a great improvement in performance and response.

Lack of power due to engine running in limp mode, engine management and DPF warning light on. Fault code stored for DPF blockage, unable to carry out regeneration of DPF due to soot loading.

The fault was cured by removing the DPF to manually clean using Forté DPF Off-Car Cleaner as per instructions, carrying out an extended Forté New Generation Engine Flush and adding Forté Diesel Specialist Injector Cleaner and Forté DPF Cleaner & Regenerator into the fuel tank. The vehicle was then taken on an extended road test.

Poor performance, EGR valve sluggish in operation and sticking.

Engine management light on, fault code stored for turbocharger boost control performance. Suspect fault due to sticking variable vanes on turbo.

The fault was cured by adding Forté Diesel Specialist Injector Cleaner and Forté Diesel Turbo Cleaner into the fuel tank and the customer advised to use premium fuel and run for a week. After a week no further faults appeared and customer reported car was running fine.

Poor running at idle and emissions readings checked indicated an air leak. No air leaks found, suspect fault due to sticking valves. 

The fault was cured by cleaning the intake system with Forté Valve Cleaner as per instructions, Forté Clean and Protect (Forté Oil System Protector and Forté Advanced Formula Motor Flush) carried out and Forté Advanced Formula Gas Treatment added to the fuel tank. 

After treatment the vehicle was running smoothly on idle and the emission readings restored.

Lack of power and EML on, fault codes stored DPF blockage and Air Flow Meter. DPF soot loading 47 grams, suspect fault due to DPF blockage.

The fault was cured by cleaning the DPF using the Forté Power-Clean DPF Cleaner and Forté  Power-Clean DPF Flush and carrying out an extended road test. After the road test the soot loading was rechecked showing 2 grams with the vehicle performance restored.

Problem with a VOLKSWAGEN GOLF 2.0L TDi 2004 170k

Vehicle cut out and unable to restart, suspect fault due to low fuel pressure/fuel blockage. After further investigation it was found that the fuel filter had never been replaced.

The fault was cured by replacing the fuel pump, fuel filter and manually cleaned fuel lines.
The oil system was also cleaned using Forté Advanced Formula Motor Flush and adding Forté Advanced Formula Diesel Treatment into the fuel tank. The performance was restored and the owner also reported that the vehicle had never driven so well.

Problem with a BMW 520D 2.0L 2007 169k

Engine management light on and lack of power, fault codes stored for glow plugs, throttle body and DPF blockage. New DPF and catalytic converter fitted a few months previously.

The fault was cured by fitting a new throttle body and glow plugs, removing the DPF and manually cleaning with 4 x Forté DPF Off-Car Cleaner as per instructions and cleaning the intake system with Forté Diesel Intake Cleaner. The oil system was also cleaned using Forté New Generation Engine Flush and adding Forté Diesel Specialist Injector Cleaner and Forté DPF Cleaner & Regenerator into the fuel tank. The vehicle was then taken on an extended road test with the vehicle performance restored.

Problem with a VAUXHALL VIVARO 137k

No obvious issues but seemed a little down on power.

Van ran on a dyno test producing 109 bhp (expected level 115 bhp).
Forté Power-Clean Diesel Intake Cleaner carried out for 40 minutes.

After road test the vehicle appeared a lot more responsive, more torque in higher gears and no turbo lag under acceleration. Repeating the dyno test 116 bhp was recorded.

Problem with a FORD TRANSIT 2.0 L TDCi 2015

Poor running and poor performance, DPF soot loading 88%. Suspect fault due to DPF blockage.

The fault was cured by cleaning the DPF with the Forté Power-Clean machine and carrying out an extended road test. After the road test the soot loading was rechecked showing 14% with the vehicle performance restored, Forté DPF Cleaner and Regenerator was also added to fuel tank after road test.

Problem with a NISSAN MICRA 1.2 L 16v 2003 42k

Engine misfire and EML on, fault code stored P0300 random/multiple cylinder misfire detected. Customer advised at the previous garage that the ECU required replacing. After further investigation the garage checked the injectors, plugs, coil packs & leads which showed no faults. The engine vacuum was also checked which indicated a problem with sticking valves.

The fault was cured by cleaning the intake system with Forté Valve Cleaner as per instructions, carrying out an extended Forté Advanced Formula Motor Flush and adding Forté Advanced Formula Gas Treatment into the fuel tank. After treatment the vehicle was taken on a 8 mile road test, the misfire had gone and the vehicle was running perfectly.

Problem with a CITROËN XSARA PICASSO 2.0L HDi 2003 111K

Intermittent non-start and cutting out fault code stored for low fuel pressure. After further investigation the fuel pressure was low when checked and metal filings were found in the fuel filter.

The fault was cured by cleaning the fuel filter housing and replacing the fuel filter and adding Forté Advanced Formula Diesel Treatment into the fuel filter and the fuel tank. The fuel pressure was restored and engine running smoother.

Problem with a VW GOLF 1.6 L 16v Petrol 2002 90k

Failing MOT emissions test at fast idle CO 1.32%. Fault codes stored P0140 oxygen sensor bank 1 sensor 2 no signal, P1105 oxygen sensor heater circuit bank 1 sensor 2 short to battery positive & P1176 lambda correction bank 1 sensor 2 control limit reached. The throttle body was cleaned, coolant temperature sensor and EVAP system operation checked and both catalytic converters and front lambda sensor were replaced. Fault not cured and still failing emissions test.

The fault was cured by cleaning the intake system with Forté Valve Cleaner as per instructions and adding 2 x Forté Petrol Specialist Injector Cleaner into the fuel tank. After treatment the vehicle was taken on an extended road test, emissions retested and passed.

Misfiring under load and loss of power, various fault codes stored for injector faults.
