Poor running and flat spot.

The fault was cured by adding Forté Advanced Formula Diesel Treatment and carrying out an extended road test.

After the road test the engine was running smooth and the performance restored.

Problem with a SEAT IBIZA 1.4 TDi 2005 138k

Vehicle service carried out a few days previously. Engine misfire and hesitation, suspect fault due to dirty injectors.

The fault was cured by adding Forté Diesel Specialist Injector Cleaner into the fuel tank and carrying out a 5 mile road test.

Lack of power, running in limp mode and engine cutting out. Fault codes stored relating to fuel pressure.

The fault was cured by adding 2 x Forté Diesel Specialist Injector Cleaner and Forté Diesel Turbo Cleaner into the fuel tank, the car was then taken on an extended road test.

The customer also reported that the fault was cured and the vehicle performance was restored.

The fault was cured by adding Forté Advanced Formula Diesel Treatment into the fuel tank and carrying out an extended road test.

Emissions retested and passed at 0.8m-1.

Problem with a FORD FIESTA 1.4L TDCi 2012 41k

Engine management light on, fault code stored for turbocharger boost control performance. Suspect fault due to sticking variable vanes on turbo.

The fault was cured by adding Forté Diesel Specialist Injector Cleaner and Forté Diesel Turbo Cleaner into the fuel tank and the customer advised to use premium fuel and run for a week.

After a week no further faults appeared and customer reported car was running fine.

Failed diesel emissions test at 9.6m-1.

The fault was cured by adding half a bottle of Forté Advanced Formula Diesel Treatment into the fuel filter and the rest into the fuel tank and carrying out a 10 mile road test.

Emissions retested and passed.

Problem with a FIAT DUCATO 2.2 L HDi 2007 97k

Misfiring under load and loss of power, various fault codes stored for injector faults.

The fault was cured by adding 2 x Forté Diesel Specialist Injector Cleaner into the tank, running the engine on idle for thirty minutes and carrying out an extended road test.

After the road test the misfire was cured and the power was restored. The owner also reported two weeks later that the van had never run so well.

Lack of power and EML on due to a DPF fault, soot loading checked and reading 90% blocked. Suspect fault due to DPF blockage. 


The vehicle was given an extended road test and the soot loading was rechecked showing 18% with the vehicle power and performance restored.

Lack of power due to DPF fault, DPF soot loading checked showing 46%. Suspect fault due to DPF blockage. 


After cleaning the vehicle was given an extended road test, the soot loading was rechecked, showing the DPF was clear.

Problem with a AUDI A3 2.0L TDi 2006 175k


Failed emissions test at 1.8m-1 plate value 1.0m-1. 

The fault was cured by cleaning the intake system using the Forté Power-Clean Diesel Intake Cleaner, adding Forté Diesel Specialist Injector Cleaner and Forté Diesel Turbo Cleaner into the fuel tank and carrying out an extended road test. 

Emissions rechecked after road test and reduced to 0.2m-1.

Engine management light on and lack of power, fault code stored P045C EGR valve fault. Suspect fault due to contaminated & sticking EGR valve.

The fault was cured by adding Forté Advanced Formula Diesel Treatment and Forté DieselTurbo Cleaner into the fuel tank. The customer reported after a week the power was restored but the engine management light was still on.

The vehicle was treated further with Forté Advanced Formula Diesel Treatment and Forté DieselSpecialist Injector Cleaner and the engine management light went off and fault code cleared.

Failing emissions test due to excessive black smoke, vehicle only used for short journeys.

The fault was cured by adding Forté Advanced Formula Diesel Treatment into the tank and carrying out a 20-mile road test. After the road test there was only slight black smoke from the exhaust, emissions retested and passed.

Problem with a BMW X3 2.0d 2007 83k

Lack of power and DPF warning light on, fault caused by restricted exhaust gas flow due to DPF blockage. After further investigation the oil was also checked which was thick and heavily contaminated.

The fault was cured by replacing the DPF pressure sensor, adding 2 x Forté New Generation Engine Flush carrying out an extended flush and adding 2 x Forté Diesel Specialist Injector Cleaner, 2 x Forté DPF Cleaner and Regenerator into the tank. The vehicle was then taken on an extended road test with the vehicle power and performance restored.

Poor running and noisy timing chain, fault codes stored P0011 inlet camshaft timing solenoid 1 timing over advanced, P0014 exhaust camshaft timing solenoid 1 timing over advanced. Suspect fault due to oil contamination preventing the correct operation of the variable valve timing. The fault was cured by using Clean & Protect, carrying out a 1-hour Forté Advanced Formula Motor Flush and adding Forté Oil System Protector to the new oil.

Lack of power and engine management light on. Suspect fault due to variable valve timing sticking.

The fault was cured by removing and cleaning the VVT solenoids, and carrying out a 45-minute Forté New Generation Engine Flush adding Forté Top End Treatment to the new oil and Forté Advanced Formula Gas Treatment to the fuel tank.

Hunting on idle and engine management fault code stored P1341 camshaft adjustment bank 1 VVT. Suspect fault due to sticking variable valve timing.

The fault was cured by carrying out a  one hour Forté New Generation Engine Flush and adding Forté Top End Treatment to the new oil.

DPF fault and vehicle unable to run due to excessively blocked DPF, fault caused by an air intake system leak preventing regeneration.

Problem with a VAUXHALL ASTRA 1.4 16v Twinport 2006 89k

Excessive noise from hydraulic valve lifters and timing chain noisy. Suspect fault due to heavily contaminated oil from lack of servicing.

The fault was cured by adding Forté New Generation Engine Flush and flushing the engine for 2 ½ hours and adding Forté Top End Treatment and Forté Oil System Protector to the new oil. The vehicle was taken on an extended road test, the engine noise had gone and the customer was very impressed with the results.

Lack of power due to engine running in limp mode, engine management and DPF warning light on. Fault code stored for DPF blockage, unable to carry out regeneration of DPF due to soot loading.

The fault was cured by removing the DPF to manually clean using Forté DPF Off-Car Cleaner as per instructions, carrying out an extended Forté New Generation Engine Flush and adding Forté Diesel Specialist Injector Cleaner and Forté DPF Cleaner & Regenerator into the fuel tank. The vehicle was then taken on an extended road test.

Poor running, hunting on idle and cutting out, suspect fault due to contaminated injectors. 

The fault was cured by cleaning the injectors for 20 minutes using the Forté Power-Clean Diesel Injection Cleaner. After only 10 minutes cleaning the engine was idling perfectly.

Problem with a MERCEDES E320 3.0L CDi 2006

Engine management light on and lack of power, fault code stored for turbo boost condition. 

The fault was cured by cleaning the turbo using the Forté Power-CleanDiesel Turbo Cleaner and carrying out an extended road test. The owner also reported a few weeks later that the turbo was working fine, and the fault had not returned.
