Lack of power and engine management light on.
Fault code stored P242F diesel particulate filter
blockage/ash accumulation, suspect particulate filter
blocked. The engine oil was also checked which was
excessively overfilled due to contamination from
diesel fuel.
The fault was cured by using Forté Clean & Protect, 45-minute Forté New Generation Engine Flush adding Forté Oil
System Protector to the new oil and Forté DPF Cleaner and Regenerator and Forté Diesel Specialist Injector Cleaner
added to the fuel tank. The car was then taken for a
20-mile road test at 40-50 mph to allow regeneration
of the particulate filter.
