Lack of power due to engine running in limp mode, engine management and Diesel Particulate Filter
(DPF) warning light on. Fault code stored for DPF blockage, unable to
carry out regeneration of DPF due to soot loading.
The fault was cured
by removing the DPF to manually clean using Forté DPF Off-Car Cleaner as per
instructions, carrying out an extended Forté New Generation Engine Flush and
adding Forté Diesel Specialist Injector Cleaner and Forté DPF Cleaner and Regenerator into the fuel tank.
The vehicle was then taken on an
extended road test with the vehicle power and performance restored.

Forté's Technical Helpline receives over 300 calls per month. This blog shares solutions for garage workshops on common driveability concerns that can be quickly and effectively treated. The vast majority of those identified are caused by fuel and oil borne contamination formed by natural degradation or via the combustion process. This is a fact of life for internal combustion engines where fossil fuels and oils are used.
