Problem with a BMW 645i 4.4L

BMW 645i 4.4L 2005 40K

Excessive oil burning, 1.5 litres every 100-200 miles. BMW dealers recommend an engine rebuild. Suspect oil burning due to bore lacquering and sticking piston rings.

The fault was cured by using Clean & Protect, adding 2 x Advanced Formula Motor Flush and carrying out a 15 mile road test, adding Oil System Protector to the new oil and Advanced Formula Gas Treatment to the fuel tank. The oil level was monitored and after 200 miles showed no loss of oil.

Thanks to Tony at Automate in Droylsden, Manchester.
