EML on due to a DPF fault and vehicle unable to run due to
excessively blocked DPF. Fault code stored P047B exhaust gas pressure
sensor range/performance. The fault was caused by a broken pipe between
the intercooler and throttle valve preventing regeneration.
The fault
was cured by replacing the pipe and removing the DPF to manually clean
using Forté DPF Off-Car Cleaner as per instructions, carrying out an oil and
filter change and adding Forté DPF Cleaner & Regenerator into the fuel
tank. The DPF was then regenerated and reset using diagnostic equipment
and taken on an extended road test with the vehicle power and
performance restored.

Forté's Technical Helpline receives over 300 calls per month. This blog shares solutions for garage workshops on common driveability concerns that can be quickly and effectively treated. The vast majority of those identified are caused by fuel and oil borne contamination formed by natural degradation or via the combustion process. This is a fact of life for internal combustion engines where fossil fuels and oils are used.
