Forté's Technical Helpline receives over 300 calls per month. This blog shares solutions for garage workshops on common driveability concerns that can be quickly and effectively treated. The vast majority of those identified are caused by fuel and oil borne contamination formed by natural degradation or via the combustion process. This is a fact of life for internal combustion engines where fossil fuels and oils are used.

Problem with a SAAB 9-3 1.9 TTiD 2010 82k
Vehicle running in limp mode and engine management light on due to Diesel Particulate Filter (DPF) blockage. Unable to carry out forced regeneration due to excessively blocked DPF.
The fault was cured by removing the DPF and manually cleaning with Forté DPF Off-Car Cleaner as per instructions. The DPF was then regenerated and reset using diagnostic equipment and taken on an extended road test with the vehicle power and performance restored.
Thanks to Darren at Alltecnique Ltd in Salisbury, Wiltshire.
