Diesel Particulate Filter (DPF) fault and vehicle unable to run due to excessively blocked DPF.
Fault caused by an air intake system leak preventing regeneration.
The fault was cured by repairing the air leak and removing the DPF to manually clean using Forté DPF Off-Car Cleaner as per instructions, carrying out an extended Forté New Generation Engine Flush, adding Forté Diesel Specialist Injector Cleaner and Forté DPF Cleaner & Regenerator into the fuel tank.
The vehicle was then taken on an extended road test.
Thanks to Tanya at Tanbury Ltd in Horsham, West Sussex.
Forté's Technical Helpline receives over 300 calls per month. This blog shares solutions for garage workshops on common driveability concerns that can be quickly and effectively treated. The vast majority of those identified are caused by fuel and oil borne contamination formed by natural degradation or via the combustion process. This is a fact of life for internal combustion engines where fossil fuels and oils are used.
