Problem with a CITROËN C5 1.6 HDi 2005 70k

Lack of power, black smoke and heavy soot build-up around turbo with a risk of DPF blockage.

The fault was cured by cleaning the intake system with Forté Diesel Intake Cleaner as per instructions, extended Forté Advanced Formula Motor Flush carried out and Forté DPF Cleaner &  Regenerator and Forté Advanced Formula Diesel Treatment added into the fuel tank.

The fault codes were removed and the car was then taken for a 30 minute road test.

With thanks to Norman at Norman Hall Motor Vehicle Engineer in Houghton-le-Spring, Tyne & Wear.

  1. Hello again, my initial question referred to use of the engine flush product on a 2007 Citroen C6 2.7hdi, with the 130,000mls.
Would it be good to use the top end treatment product to cure sticking tappets after using the flush?. Any advice on using the two products on this engine? How long to add the engine flush to the oil, should it be old oil or is new oil ok ( changed a week ago) 5w30 ACEA C2 total oil used. Any advice greatly appreciated.
