The fault was cured by cleaning the intake system with Forté Diesel Intake Cleaner as per instructions, extended Forté Advanced Formula Motor Flush carried out and Forté DPF Cleaner & Regenerator and Forté Advanced Formula Diesel Treatment added into the fuel tank.
The fault codes were removed and the car was then taken for a 30 minute road test.

Forté's Technical Helpline receives over 300 calls per month. This blog shares solutions for garage workshops on common driveability concerns that can be quickly and effectively treated. The vast majority of those identified are caused by fuel and oil borne contamination formed by natural degradation or via the combustion process. This is a fact of life for internal combustion engines where fossil fuels and oils are used.
Hello again, my initial question referred to use of the engine flush product on a 2007 Citroen C6 2.7hdi, with the 130,000mls.
ReplyDeleteWould it be good to use the top end treatment product to cure sticking tappets after using the flush?. Any advice on using the two products on this engine? How long to add the engine flush to the oil, should it be old oil or is new oil ok ( changed a week ago) 5w30 ACEA C2 total oil used. Any advice greatly appreciated.
