Vehicle not serviced for last three years and suffering with excessive knocking and ticking noise on the top end, suspect noise due to hydraulic valve lifters or variable valve timing.
After further investigation live data showed that the variable valve timing was sticking due to contamination build-up.
The fault was cured by using Forté Clean & Protect: a 1 hour Forté Advanced Formula Motor Flush carried out adding Forté Oil System Protector to the new oil.
