Lack of power, engine management light on and DPF warning light on, fault code stored for DPF fault. Vehicle check at dealer showing the DPF filter soot loading 126%, recommending a new DPF is fitted.
The fault was cured by adding 2 x DPF Cleaner and Regenerator into the fuel tank and carrying out a 20-30 mile road test at 50-60 mph 2,500 rpm. After the road test the DPF was re-checked showing the filter soot loading at 18% and power restored.

Forté's Technical Helpline receives over 300 calls per month. This blog shares solutions for garage workshops on common driveability concerns that can be quickly and effectively treated. The vast majority of those identified are caused by fuel and oil borne contamination formed by natural degradation or via the combustion process. This is a fact of life for internal combustion engines where fossil fuels and oils are used.
